To the moon
August 14th, 2009
Moon is one of those films that actually deserves to be classified as psy-fi rather than sci-fi. Sure it’s all future set with various technological advancements being taken for granted, but the focus is on the character’s ability to deal with the situation, rather than on the situation itself, and that has alwas been what separates the best from the rest in all decent science fiction cinema and literature. No spoilers here, but if you’re interested in thought experiments about the self, identity, isolation, memory and artificial intelligence, there is a lot to unpack in this film.
